How to Use This Calculator
1
Measure Project Area
Measure the length and width of the area to be covered with gravel in feet. For irregular shapes, break into rectangles or estimate average dimensions.
2
Determine Gravel Depth
Choose appropriate depth: 2-3 inches for decorative paths, 4-6 inches for driveways, 6-8 inches for heavy traffic areas. Enter this depth in inches.
3
Calculate Volume
The calculator converts your measurements to cubic yards (standard ordering unit). It may also show tons if you enter the gravel type and density.
4
Order with Extra
Add 5-10% extra for settling and to ensure complete coverage. Contact suppliers with your cubic yard or tonnage requirements. Prepare the site with landscape fabric before delivery.
