Pediatric Dose Calculator
Calculate safe medication dosages for children based on weight.
How to Use This Calculator
Weigh Your Child Accurately
Get your child's current weight in kilograms or pounds. For infants, use a baby scale. For older children, weigh in minimal clothing. If you only know pounds, the calculator can convert (1 kg = 2.2 lbs).
Find Recommended Dose
Look up the medication's recommended pediatric dose on the label, package insert, or as provided by your healthcare provider. It's usually expressed as mg/kg/dose or mg/kg/day. Note maximum single dose and daily dose limits.
Enter Medication Information
Input the medication name, recommended dose (mg/kg), dosing frequency (how many times per day), and concentration if it's a liquid medication (mg/mL). The calculator will determine the appropriate dose in mg and, if applicable, mL.
Verify and Administer
Double-check all calculations, confirm the dose doesn't exceed maximum limits, and verify you're giving the correct concentration. Use an oral syringe or dosing cup for accurate measurement. When in doubt, consult your pediatrician or pharmacist. Never guess with medication dosing for children.
